Tears of the Kingdom is a masterpiece, but it lacks a lot of things that gamers ever wanted. That's one of the reasons why a 3rd Zelda game is in order.

Can we take a minute and appreciate that this man spent over 2 hours breaking down every detail of this game? You earned my sub. Your points on the story building shortfalls were spot on. TotK just felt a little off when I played it and I think your explanation there was one of the reasons for that. Another reason it felt just a little weird was because everything felt so recycled. The concepts of shrines, towers, spirit orbs, divine beasts and more almost seemed copy and paste from BotW. I was reminded of this painfully with the end sequence of the shrines. The caves were awesome and I got genuinely excited when I would find one and I really liked the depths but sadly there just wasn't much of significance to fo down there. The story was super "meh" in my opinion. I didn't like Raru or the zonai partly because it felt so detached from Zelda lore and from the the events going on around you in the game. The Sheika in BotW had a solid previous connection and I feel like it gave that part of the story more credibility. I was also disappointed in the execution of the memories and actually got the master sword before I got all of the memories by mistake, so that was a major damper on the story arc for me. For the record though I did get choked up when Zelda turned into a dragon and had some major eye sweat when Link grabbed her in the air. For me it felt like the creators came up with some really good concepts but failed in the execution. I felt like such a huge emphasis was made on the ultra hand aspect that it took away from the other parts of the game. Personally I didn't care much for building and I only used it the bare minimum. But it just felt to me like the designers put more emphasis on perfecting and incorporating that part then they did the story or dungeons. Overall, I can't say it was a bad game. It was enjoyable and had a handful of great moments but it just felt weird and forced, as opposed to BotW which felt very effortless and natural. I don't think it makes my Zelda top 5 but I will say that it is Good but not Great.

The only way a Zelda movie, like Super Mario Bros. works is if Link never speaks. His fairy companion has to do all the talking, otherwise it bombs. He can scream and sigh, but no words.

For over two years, this was in my "watch later" because I've never played this game (I am waiting for it to come to switch) but I bit the bullet today and I don't think I saw any spoilers

It makes me sad knowing this world of hyrule is done and that we’ll never see this specific Link again. It makes me sad, I remember when this game was just coming out. It feels like just yesterday.

I just want transformation masks back I miss goron rolling and wanna do it across a giant open field like in breath of the wild

I have a lot of criticisms but that everything involving the final battle and the ending will never be one of them. I wasnt even truly watching, im playing dark souls, and im still getting choked up and teary-eyed. Easily the most powerful ending in the franchise.

I'm really happy they brought back Fi. It's comforting that Fi is there when the timeline started and they're there when the timeline is ending

The fact that you, in any shape,way or form, try to describe THIS beautiful game as disappointing - speaks volumes. You need to distance yourself from games to appreciate them again. This game was clearly and 100% the game of the year. (And to those that want to tell me - well, no, BG3 was the game of the year and is one of the best of all time - nope. Its not even close. And it wasnt even finished when it got released after a couple of years being buyable on steam. NO unfinished and unplayable game should be awarded any game of the year award. And i dont mean to hate about it - its just a fact. If game devs release an unfinished game and people still award it in any kind of way - other devs will follow. That is a huuuuge problem in the gaming industry.) Whelp, just my thoughts. But i am truly disappointed to see this video from a so called "Zelda Fan".

It just feels like breath of the wild, they got so caught up in the cool idea they had they put less effort into actually making that idea cool.

If anything, it couldve just been a separate botw like how they did it with oracle of ages and oracle of seasons

its too early to see whats coming next. But one thing in do wish for is that they create an anime series and/or a game called: The Legend of Zelda : *A NEW ERA* Making it a new begining or the end of the beginning and the restoration of hyrule where people rebuild the castle and they could also add ai to the npc so you can phrase your own conversations with the citizens of hyrule. zelda becomes a queen or a princess in search of a prince who could be link. Who knows...

Im not sure TOTK makes my Zelda top 5. Can't decide whether I like Wind Waker or TOTK better.

Man, the most heroic feeling in Zelda to me has to be catching Zelda in TOTK, and most of that is due to the music, mixing the main theme, Zelda's Lullaby, and Link's/TLOZ's Theme

What about the whole time travel and teleportation with the hero of time?? Plus since TOTK came out, and the link becomes OP AF The list may change

For the next Zelda game, I think we need to get Wind Waker 2. Not necessarily the same world as WW, but a spiritual successor. Wind Waker was *soo* close to having a perfect balance between player freedom and linear progression that I believe a modern spiritual successor to that core formula would make for an outstanding game. We traversed the land, explored the sky, and trekked through the depths below, so now it's time for Link and Zelda to take to the ocean once again

Tears of the Kingdom was the artistic vision of its designers. The open-ended-ness of the game was an implementation detail. It doesn’t matter what the format of the next game is.

It's been done. Breath of the wild was beautiful, then you had Tears of the Kingdom which looked the same. Played 300 plus hours on BOTW so I kinda was over the whole game (TOTK)

Hear me out or read lol "What if they took 10 years to make botw and totk but over 200 shrines then first freeing the Devine beasts Just both in one I think it be the biggest zelda ever both games are all ready i cant put into words like with oot how it had the tree in the forest then the cave in death mountain 🌄 tgen the fish 🐟 in the zoron region then it went on to the 6 or 7 main temples Botw and totk combined to one game 🎮 could of been fire

The Wind Waker Earth Temple will always stick with me, I've never forgotten it. Something about the atmosphere, the aesthetics, the music, the enemies, I loved that aspect of it a lot.

Just recently rolled credits on Tears, thanks for having all this content to bring myself down from the sky ✌️. Towards the end i was also dreaming of a new sea faring adventure with the size/spirit of BotW, and like some magic where you flow down to the seafloor and explore an aquatic landscape! I would also do a tingle dance for new top down zelda

Some of the caves had some sort of micro dungeons in them, leading to buried temples and structures with small puzzles, i think they should have cut the shrines and make more of these integrated mini cave dungeons instead.

You can see that they changed the blue boko horn, as in the older trailer when Link uses recal, the blue boko has a barbed cone shaped horn instead of the forked one!

I 100% want them to reuse the same world. That’s not the issue I have. My issue is the way it was reused. For example all the stables are in the same place. I would have moved them. And don’t say, “well why would all the stables randomly move between botw and Totk?” Well they could have went the easy route and just said that sky islands rubble destroyed the original locations so they had to move. I could go on forever saying what I would have done but I think you know what I mean.
